Week 4, Task 3C: Summary of a paragraph

Mirzeoff, Nicholas. “Putting the other in shade”. How To See The World. London: Pelican, 2015. 59-62. Print.

Subcultures in visual imagery displayed to global media creating a revelation where the subculture is now more accepted than it was. This paragraph uses ‘queer voguing’ as an example, with Madonna changing the way the general public saw ‘queer voguing’ with a rise of this type of dance in the 1980’s. This paragraph also touches on the fact that viewing art and design culture can lead to a visual analysis of the identity rather than a scientific deduction.
