Week 3, Task 2: Writing response

Wallace, Andrew, Tony Schirato, and Phillippa Bright. “Critical Thinking.” Beginning University: Thinking, Researching and Writing for success. St Leonards, N. S. W.: Allen & Unwin, 1999. 45-50. Print.

After reading this text I now understand critical thinking means to assess issues objectively and work out better explanations or finding new solutions, even though this may force you to confront the truth which may be uncomfortable or unwelcome to you.

This text is very well written as it is published and directed at people heading into University so it is a very authoritative voice. They make it very easy to understand the ideas around thinking critically and how this can make your work more accurate and convincing when looking at a visual text. I really enjoyed reading this section of work as it deepened my understanding on the purpose of thinking critically and how this can benefit me as a student.
